Every page on your site should have only 1 thing that you want a visitor to do. It’s what we call “One Page, One Job.”
So what is the action that you would like for your visitor to take when they visit your website?
Answer that question, and then go to this site http://browsersize.googlelabs.com/
type in your URL and is that one thing you want your visitors to do clear in at least the 80% area?
If you make this a reality on your site. You will see a lot higher conversion rate on your site.
Hope this helps!

When I was learning about marketing someone taught me it’s all about finding where the hungry fish are, finding out what they want to eat & give it to them.
And that’s been my philosophy every since then.
So….
First things first. Where are all the fish at? Meaning, where are the possible prospects for your business at?
Most people, especially the 30 & under crowd, don’t use the Yellow Pages Phone Book anymore. If they want to find a business that meets their needs they will go to Google and type their problem in there.
So what are they eating?
Google has one objective…they want to have the most relevant answer to any question, asked at any time, any where in the world.
Google sends out these bots we call spiders to every page they can find on the internet. And if spiders ate food it would be content on those web pages. So, hypothetically speaking, the best food for those spiders will get ranked higher in the search engines.
Now why does this matter for your small business?
Does your small business website have relevant high quality content that the Google Spiders will eat up? If the answer to this question is no. Then you’re website is probably not ranked very high in the search engines.
And your prospective customer has no way of finding your business when they need to solve their problem.
So…Feed those hungry Fish!
So the first and most important thing you should do is keyword research. Find out what your prospective client will be searching for in Google or the other search engines.
Once you have found those keywords, write an article for every single one of those keywords.
And make sure you add the proper Meta Data to those articles.
And post those to your website.
I usually will span out the submission of these article over a few weeks because Google likes to give their customers fresh content.
So there you have it.
The very first thing you should do to market your small business online.
Google just changed the local search game again!
Watch this video about the way they are now showing their local search results.
If you want to get page one search results for your local business. You need to optimize your Google Places page.
I heard an alarming, yet exciting, statistic the other day from Maria Gudelis a Search Engine Marketing Guru type of lady. She said that 86% of people nowadays use Google instead of their Yellow Pages.
This is alarming because there are tons of businesses still paying thousands of dollars to have a nice yellow pages ad.
But exciting because it’s actually amazingly simple to list your business in Google. Oh…and did I mention it costs you a whole bunch of nothing.
The tricky part is optimizing it to be found by Google for whatever it is you do.
And here’s another neat thing. Google is so good at what they do. They have probably already found your business and put it in their database and it’s just floating out there waiting for someone to come along and verify that listing.
I can go look at a number of business categories in Google Maps and see hundreds of businesses that haven’t verified their listings.
So is your Business Verified in Google?
If not…give us a call 505-750-3736 we will verify your listing and optimize it to be found in the search engines.
This really is the quickest & easiest way to get page one rankings for your business.
